I bought this to deter cats from coming into the garden. It was successful after only 4 days of use. The item is plastic and therefore it would be easy to damage, the spike for fixing it into the ground is a bit flimsy but with a little bit of care and making a hole in the ground first there is no reason why the spike would break. The settings for the sensor to activate work well, and the jet of water and spray pattern really cleared the cats off (i caught the action on camera.) All in all a good bit of kit for the money. As i stated before just exercise a bit of care in handling it and it should serve you well.

Arrived very quickly. Instructions are poor (no diagrams at all) And I am surprised that you have to screw down the battery case cover. Surely this could be made to clip in... Those gripes apart it works well. The thing is, it does need adjusting, so it might not work well straight 'out of the box'. Stick with it and you'll get there. I was tempted at one point to bundle it back up and ask for a refund. But pick a nice afternoon and just tinker with it, and it WILL work. The trick is to have good seals on your external tap, otherwise you'll be losing water all through the night, (that's when ours is on). The PIR sensor has a good long range. So much so that we could easily, if not careful, drench passers-by from our drive way, (as that's where it is stationed). So do play around with water pressure, sensor range, positioning etc. And be prepared to get a little wet when testing it.Read full review

I bought this a year ago and it's still working after winter, however I did put it in the shed to protect from the frost last year. setting it back up in Spring the batteries were still working and they are still working at the end of summer. I spent similar money before on the alarms which failed after just one season of rain and didn't even work very well. This at least actually gives the pests an incentive to stop using my lawn as their toilet on a regular basis. It isn't that accurate and sometimes goes off by itself, hence only 4 stars but it does the job it was designed for and lasts more than one season.

The automatic water gun, as our children call it, works well but you will need to spending some time to fine-adjust the settings. The quality of the groundspike and the pipe going to the unit is not that great and you have to be very carefully when pushing it in the ground, if there is one thing to improve than it is that. Either make the spike from metal of more heavy duty PVC. The unit has a few settings; One it the detection range and can be adjusted, the dial is just an indication as we found out the range 'dynamicaly' changes with weather conditions (our garden is not that big and we did not want to splash people walking by) The other adjustments is the area that is being protected and this is easily adjusted in width but also in length/distnce. The final tweak is simply finding the balance between the water pressure and the lengt/distance adjustment, but again this is only required if you are targetting a small (english) garden. We have the unit now operating for some weeks and must say we haven't seen any cats or their dropping in the garden anymore. Will keep the unit for a few more weeks, just in case and then we can remove it again. But besides protecting the area it is also a great summer toy on hot sunny days! Good point: does the job and can be finetuned with a little effort comment: Improvement required on the groundspike and pipework as this is not to strong/sturdy and make the unit wobble, especialy when the water pressure if on full blastRead full review

Quite a robust piece of kit, except for the ground spike which I have replaced with a metal one. Once sensitivity has been adjusted correctly it maintains it's settings well.Ensure there are no overhanging tree branches / tall plants close by or it will trigger when the wind blows. My water pressure is good and it can squirt a spray jet of water up to 26 feet in a shallow arc.Batteries last well, but of course that depends on how often it is trigger - pretty reliable I believe helps piece of mind when protecting Koi carp!
