I fitted this conversion to my 20 year old mtb. It works very well, I now use my bike everyday to commute to work and have already done 100 miles on it and enjoyed every mile! 😊 The only down side is the inner tube supplied didn't have a long enough valve to go through the double walled alloy rim and the tyre was of low quality. But easily rectified and a small price to pay for what is so far brilliant!

Great hub motor and controls. I bought the cheapest new adult sized mtb with disc brakes (Argos £109 in a sale) bought this kit for £168 and a 52v 20ah (14s8p) triangular battery with bag (large enough to hold the controller too) and charger inc taxes and delivery from AliExpress for £276. A new side seat for my tender derrière £9. Front led light £6 rear led light £8. £13 for quality torque arm. £589 total. Easy to assemble, simple tools required, however while the connectors all work, I didn’t like the look of a couple of them and so as a personal choice I swapped them out for better quality ones. I put the pas on the crank but I never really use it, I just pedal, then let the throttle take the strain. I am 16st and have no concerns over power or range. This bike was built initially just for a bit of fun and to get me occasionally to the pub and back which is 3 miles away down the country lanes, but because there were no pavements we never bothered to go. She-who-must-be-obeyed saw this bike and my break for freedom, hence bike build No. 2. Instead of just expecting to use it on a casual basis and the weather being very good lately, I find myself using this to nip everywhere. There are savings to be made with the build of course, maybe you have an existing bike or can assemble your own battery pack but for a 30mph good range ebike I think sub £600 is fantastic value and great fun.Read full review

Bought this kit more for the DIY experience, and installed it on Trek Alpha 3700 bike from 2012, with battery assembled by me. The kit fit perfectly with minor adjustments to the gears and worked just fine with the battery ( 48V 15Ah... ish) . Installation was easy and hastle free. The menu included, could be better, also there was no menu for the lcd display, but it is easy to find online. No need for speed sensor, as there is build in within the hub. The speed can be also limited from the lcd , which is quite useful (unfortunately it doesn't give voltage and amps ). On full battery and no power limit, on even road 30mph is real. On seriously steepy road it strugles but with more pedaling it makes it really easy. Can not comment on the PAS as didn't bother installing it yet, I'm using the throttle while pedaling or simply just the throttle, I'm bit lasy. The break levers with the cut off switches are not the best quality. I didn't want to spend more money on new shifters just to install the levers (mine are combined), so gutted the switches and modified them to fit on the original bike's levers. Done just over 70 miles with no troubles, hopefully I'll do much more. So far, so good.Read full review

It does go 28mph+ if your battery can handle it, UK legal wire only works with the throttle, just turn on PAS with LCD controller for a boost... Or you could just us PAS on its own which has five settings, You can also set Max speed in the LCD and change to MPH and other settings, Had it 3 weeks now no issues :-)

I bought this kit as a project for myself, very easy installation with some minor adjustments needed to fit the bike all plug and play very easy. I did buy a powerful battery 48v 20ah for it which cost more than the kit and bike together but that was my choice, I would suggest to anyone who buys this kit, make sure you have a good battery and you will have no problems.
